Hello, I am studying for PRINCE2 Foundation examination, and what I am having problems with is
understanding how all the concepts within the method are interrelated. It is easy enough to remember
the definitions, but figuring out the difference between principles, practices, processes, and
management roles in situations described in the question proves to be difficult. Specifically, I
would like to understand better the relationship between business case, risk management, quality,
and progress practices through a project. In case the project starts to drift from the agreed goals,
I should be able to figure out which PRINCE2 concepts are related and what the division of
responsibility is between the project manager and others. Just knowing the terminologies will not
always help me pick up the right answers. The way I currently go about studying is working on each
concept separately, explaining it in my own words, and then answering practice questions without
referring back to my notes. When I answer the questions incorrectly, I revise that concept again and
try to figure out why certain other answers do not work in that context. I have also been going
through past for additional practice. I believe it would be really helpful to practice how
to distinguish between certain concepts like management product and process or project-level
decisions and management responsibilities. It seems that revising these distinctions is much more
important than just learning the answers by heart and not knowing the logic behind them. If anyone
has already done the PRINCE2 Foundation examination, which areas were the most difficult for you to
revise? Is it the practice, processes, roles, or management products that were the hardest to
distinguish? Any advice on how to revise the material will be appreciated. |
