In what situations is retargeting useful

Does anyone actually use retargeting on SmartLink or affiliate networks, or is it strictly a tool for traditional e-commerce? There are constant debates in chat rooms about whether chasing users with retargeting ads on gambling or adult sites is a waste of money because hot leads either convert immediately or are lost forever. Others argue that up to 40% of potential profit is lost without retargeting, especially when traffic drops off during registration or due to geo-blocking. In which scenarios is retargeting cost-effective?

I’m particularly interested in the situation with “dead” traffic, such as when a user clicks but encounters geo-restrictions, fails KYC, or makes a deposit. Would it be effective to use pop-ups or repeated redirects for these users? Or will this just annoy the audience and fail to generate any conversions in the long run?

Retargeting is most effective when traffic typically "dies off" due to geo-blocks and KYC failures. If a user accesses the site from an unlicensed region or with a VPN enabled, the user is lost to the standard platform. However, smart pop-ups can instantly monetize this traffic by offering a relevant local deal.   The speed of session parameter detection is key here. Retarget, a proven https://retarget.gg/" target="_blank">top geo targeting agency, solves this problem by automatically monetizing rejected visits with flexible overlays that seamlessly pull up offers tailored to a specific IP and location. What do you currently have on your geo-blocked pages: a blank page or a custom smart link?
